Happy Holidays from Jott.

Dear Jotters,

I wanted to send a quick note to mark an important milestone for Jott: one year of being open to the public. It's been a blur, terrifying at times, and a blast. Without question, it's been the best year of my professional life, and I am lucky to work here.

We've survived the normal startup stuff: freak data center outages, bizarre neighboring tenants, broken romances, refurb hardware and surplus furniture. We've moved twice. And we acquired some great talent, from employees to investors. Check out some pictures of the Jott world, past and present, on our blog.

The product has been a work in process, and we've learned a ton. Early on, we had some bad transcriptions that people were (mostly) forgiving about. Some people couldn't understand why Jott didn't understand Mandarin, French and several other languages. We never did get Daily Jott right. Overall though, we've done a good job: our accuracy is approaching great, which has led to a quadrupling of the percent of Jotts sent to others. And Jott Links are just flat cool: you can shop on Amazon, price a house while sitting in your car, and create an appointment automatically with your voice.

As a holiday treat, we've cooked up a little something to help you with any kind of decision making you might have: just Jott to "8 Ball" and automatically receive your answer while still on the line with Jott. No text and emails with this one, just a little fun while deciding what you should do.

What's new at Jott

Dear Jotters,

It's been pouring buckets in Seattle for the past three days, but it looks like the rain has stopped -- just in time for us to celebrate the addition of six new Jott Links!

We've been working hard on the official release of the Google Calendar Jott Link, and we're happy to announce it's finally here. Why is this cool? Because you can now create a Google Calendar event in a single step, from anywhere, simply using your voice. Just call Jott, say "Google Calendar", and then the time of the event and what it's about….and you're done. We'll take your voice, convert it to text, and insert it into your calendar for you. "Meet Cathy at 9 am next Thursday" is no longer a to do that needs another step, it's something that's recorded in your Calendar.

Starting today you can Jott™ to Amazon®! No need to add Amazon to your account, it is already there in your contact info for your convenience. It's easy to use, and will make all that holiday shopping fast and convenient.

Jott: "Who do you want to Jott?"

You: "Amazon"

Jott: "Amazon, is that correct?"

You: "Yes"

Beep!

You: "iPod Nano" (Please only state the product or item name; just like you'd type it on Amazon's website).

Jott will send you an email with the top 5 results for your search, complete with price info and user ratings. Click one of the items in your email and you will be sent right to the product details on Amazon, where you can easily add it to your Wish List or shopping cart.

Jott your future President!

Introducing Jott the Vote™, a free and politically nonpartisan service that allows anyone with a phone to send a jott email message directly to a presidential campaign. We have used Jott technology to allow voters all over our great country to easily and readily communicate with those running for President.

When asked, "Who do you want to Jott?" say a candidate's name and leave a message that will be emailed to their campaign. Unlike your normal jotts, these messages will also be made part of a public conversation on www.jottthevote.com.

The website will feature:

New features for your Jott service

Hello Jotters,
We are excited to let you know about several new features that make Jott™ better than ever. Now you can Jott directly to some of our favorite online services and organize your Jotts more effectively.

But before we tell you about our new features, we would like to thank you. All of you have given us great feedback over the past few months, and that's what has been driving all of our hard work.

Here's what's new:

Link your voice to your online world

Jott Links: Now you can update your blog, Twitter™, add to your 30 boxes™ to do list or send a message through Yahoo Groups™ - all with Jott! For example, when Jott asks you "Who do want to Jott" just say "Twitter", speak your message and your update will appear in text on Twitter. Not bad, huh? Click here to set up your Twitter Jott Link

For those real estate mavens we have created an easy way to get a "Zestimate™". Just call Jott, say "Zillow" and you'll be prompted to give the address details. In minutes a Zestimate will be sent via text to your cell phone and e-mail.

Twitter™, Jaiku™, Zillow™, 30 boxes™, Blogger™, Word Press™, Live Journal™, TypePad™ and Yahoo Groups™ are all accessible with Jott...and we're adding more soon. Click here to set up your Jott Links.

Stay organized with Folders, Reminders and more!

Jott Folders: With Jott Folders you create preset categories for your Jotts to self. Set up folders for family, expenses, to-do list, or anything that you want. Then simply say the name of the folder the next time you leave a Jott and it'll be waiting for you in that folder at Jott.com. Click here to learn more.

Jott Reminders: With the new Jott Reminders, Jott can remind you of important events 15 minutes before they start. Just say "Reminder" and Jott will ask you for the date, time, and subject.
